Today I am going to write about what has been happening the last two weeks with my pregnancy. First, let me start off my saying how blessed I feel to be having this second baby. A little background information is that the doctors told my husband and I that we could not have anymore children after the birth of our daughter, Sydney. So to be pregnant again is something that we wished for. I went to my check up appointment on Thursday Februray 11th, 2010. I felt fine and thought that is was going to be just another routine appointment, boy was I wrong. The nurse took my blood pressure and it was high (140 over 85). This concerned the doctor and she said that she was worried that I had pre-eclampsia. This meant that I was going to have to go on bed rest and see the doctor twice a week until the baby was born. They would also give me some medicine to make sure that the babies lungs were developing faster so if I had to deliver early the baby could breath on it own. This sent me over the edge as you can imagine. For more the then obvious reason, this meant that I was going to be about 9 weeks from graduation and may not be able to graduate. So for the next four days I got to sit and worry about my health, the babies health, and weather I was going to be able to graduate or not. Nothing like adding more stress to the situation. On the following Tuesday, I got the best news I could get...no bed rest test results came back negative. Needless to say, I am keeping a close eye on my blood pressure to make sure it stays low from now on.
